Bugzilla – Bug 193814
Palm connection with GnomePilot timeout
Last modified: 2011-04-02 19:17:07 UTC
Version in SLED10 GMC. Trying to setup my Palm 515 as a device using the gnome pilot. After stating that I've used sync software with this palm before I click next and than click the HotSync button on my USB-cradle. After this my Palm freezes and needs a reset. I've used the default install (dev/pilot), used /dev/ttyUSB0, /dev/ttyUSB1 and i've created the /dev/pilot link manually to both USB0 and USB1 all with same result.
could you try pilot-link applicastions? "pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB0 -l" please append strace -f
Created attachment 94989 [details] strace of pilot-xfer command This is the dstrace result of the pilot-xfer command. The palm seemed to sync ok and showed no errors.
If pilot-xfer works well, the problem is in gnome-pilot. but I dont't know much about gnome-pilot, I reassign it to gnome-maintainers.
Edwin, It's a long time, so do you try this in SLED10-SP2 or SLED11?
Well, by now I'm using openSuse 11 but there still is a problem... Current version: rpm -qa |grep pilot jpilot-0.99.9-198.1 gnome-pilot-2.0.16-29.1 pilot-link-0.12.2-112.1 gnome-pilot-lang-2.0.16-29.1 evolution-pilot-2.22.1.1-15.1 gnome-pilot-conduits-lang-2.0.16-27.1 gnome-pilot-conduits-2.0.16-27.1 My Palm no longer freezes but it can't get a connection with GnomePilot. The pilot-xfer command works: pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB1 -l Listening for incoming connection on /dev/ttyUSB1... connected! Reading list of databases in RAM... BlueBoard Recent Devices ... But connecting Gnome Pilot to /dev/ttyUSB1 just times out.
Update the product, and change the name.
The version with which you had the bug is now obsolete. I'll close this as NORESPONSE. If you can still reproduce it in current 11.4, please reopen the bug and move it to the appropriate version. Thanks!
