Bugzilla – Bug 213474
Incomplete data shown for openSUSE's default KDE background images.
Last modified: 2007-01-29 10:38:42 UTC
Please check my screenshot; when trying to select another picture for my (Hungarian) KDE desktop I saw a list of all available images, but even that there was enough place, the info belonging to some of them was cut too "early" and one could just guess. e.g. 1600... is likely a resolution of 1600_x_something, but 16:10... looks more like a last modified timepoint ;)
Created attachment 101974 [details] Red color marks the point I mentioned above.
Cannot reproduce with Factory/Alpha 5+. If windows gets wider it shows more text, and it also doesn't truncate it with "..." if it's too small.
I'm sorry for reopening, I can reproduce this on 10.2 beta 1 with new user as well! (Hint: I have 1400x1050 resolution on my laptop.) 1. please right click on the KDE desktop -> Configure Desktop, 2. (to see it better) please do maximize screen, 3. if I had "Background" at the left hand side, I have always a similarly abbreviated list, exactly as I just screenshoted with alpha 4. In fact really no difference at all. By the way not only the default imagenames are affected, but another long name as well, in my version "Appropriately-Left-Hande...". Please let me know if you would need further info; this time I started with a completely new user and the above action was the very first after getting rid of the KDE welcome pop-ups/hints...
Created attachment 103202 [details] kdebase3 patch I can sometimes see it too, it seems to depend on the font used. The squeezing doesn't seem to be in fact necessary.
Added patch to kdebase3.
