Description John Barton 2006-10-27 15:19:09 UTC
OpenSuSE 10.2 Beta 1 installed on a Dell E1405 laptop, x86_64 version..Installed all the Xen packages..when I open Yast2 and run the Xen module, it pops up a window that says "A Xen virtual machine can be started only from the VM Server (domain 0), which is not running now. Configure the VM server now?". I click on Yes, and it responds with a window saying "The machine is ready to start the VM server. Reboot the machine and select the Xen section in the boot loader menu to start it". However, reading the contents of the grub config file show no Xen entry, and rebooting does not present me with any Xen options

This is most likely a duplicate of 208380. From your comments it appears that Xen was installed during the original installation of the machine and that is the only case where a GRUB menu section is not added. A workaround to get yourself a boot entry for Xen is to rpm -e kernel-xen (or kernel-xenpae as needed) and then run the xen module from Yast again.
