The installation setup got stuck during "Configuring X11...". In the process list, I found that the xmode command used 100% CPU for 10 minutes. The command line was:

/usr/sbin/xmode -n -x 800 -y 600 -d -1079932340 -r 75 -s 60

As you can see, the "-d" parameter was negative. 

Hardware: ASUS A7V, AMD K7 1200 MHz, nVidia GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

BTW, I killed the xmode command.
