Description macias - 2006-12-27 09:29:14 UTC
Dell Latitude D610.

10.0 opensuse worked just fine here.

10.2 if kpowersave is running (as in 10.0) I cannot turn off computer by power off button and lid close is ignored. Ironic, but quitting kpowersave helps! Power off button works and so lid closing.

Here is also a good question about opensuse maintaince policy -- what the unstable version of kpowersave is doing in (theoretically) stable release of the system?

Not sure what you mean with "lid close is ignored", but KPowersave does not ignore this event.

Btw. The complete powermanagement infrastructure was changed with 10.2 and this is the reason for a unstable version of KPowersave and there is no policy that only stable versions of a software go into a product.

Nah, Danny, my other report is a duplicate of the bug you mentioned, not this one.

Power off button (set to shutdown the system) is not shutting down the system (is ignored).

Lid close event (set to suspend to ram) is not suspending to ram (is ignored).

The bug #221715 is a collection bug for missing features in KPowersave which we had in powersave before (see for your problem e.g. comment #20).

Ok, sorry Danny, I was misled by the title of the other report. Thanks.
