Bugzilla – Bug 231119
printer: edit printer -- connection is ignored
Last modified: 2007-01-05 16:27:44 UTC
No matter what I enter in connection when editing printer settings, I click "next", and my settings are perfectly ignored. I can click "edit" again, and I see old values.
Can you please attach y2logs. If you are in doubt please follow: http://en.opensuse.org/YaST. Thanks!
The same logs as in: https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=111074&action=view There are two printers "installed". I refer here to "My_Printer". Click on it -> edit -> connection -> edit. The last two steps you can do over and over again, the values won't change.
Sorry, in that log files are nothing about printer configuration. could you please do following: cp /var/log/YaST2 /var/log/YaST2.old rm /var/log/YaST2/* start YaST2 printer module and try to reproduce this bug attach content of /var/log/YaST2/* here
Of course I can provide logs but now there is a problem if they are help to you -- I removed cups that comes with Opensuse due to its bug (printing via printserver) and installed cups 1.1.x from opensuse 10.1. In plus -- it works great. In minus -- yast printer module does not even start. So, please tell me if my new log configuration is any help.
no - yast can't work because cups1.1 and cups1.2 are not compatible (API and config file syntax) and I need logs from this (yast2-printer module)
Hmm, ok, so I think let's close it for a while as a REMIND LATER or something similar. Do you agree?
Sorry, but this is WORKSFORME, I'm not able to reproduce it. When you will able to provide requested log files, just reopen it.
