Description Michael McCarthy 2007-01-30 20:34:24 UTC
I have noticed that after being logged in for a while in KDE, the login screen is displayed after using the PC for a while. It has never happened while I am using it, only when I leave for a while, so it may be related to the screen saver kicking in. The following is in /var/log/warn and /var/log/messages

Jan 30 14:55:32 kahless kdm[3322]: X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly

Only thing in the Xorg.0.log.old is at the very end

Unfortunately there's no backtrace at the end of your attached Xorg.0.log.old.
Could you enable 3D support (add ' Load "dri" ' to Modules section of your xorg.conf) and let me know if this helps? It might well be a duplicate of Bug #211314, if the crash happens with an OpenGL screensaver.
Comment 4 Michael McCarthy 2007-01-31 16:54:39 UTC
I have turned on the 3D support as you recommended and will let you know after it runs for a week.
Comment 5 Michael McCarthy 2007-02-08 19:47:24 UTC
OK, it has run for a week with 3D turned on and no more crashes.
Comment 6 Stefan Dirsch 2007-02-09 00:15:40 UTC
Ok. Sounds like duplicate.
