It happens on two HP nx7400 laptops that we installed OpenSUSE on.  Booting stops on "Activating device mapper".  A power-cycle is required.  After one or two tries, the computer boots and works perfectly.  Also, in Windows appears to be working fine (no problems booting).

Looks more like a device-mapper issue ...
