Bugzilla – Bug 259678
Running "Font Installer" (kde) from gnome overwrites .ICEauthority with root permissions
Last modified: 2007-04-27 11:49:47 UTC
Running the kde program "Font Installer" (command "kcmshell kcmfontinst") from the "System Administration" menu (Applications), which asks for root's pasword, results in overwriting the user ~/.ICEauthority file with root's permissions: cer@nimrodel:~> l .ICEauthority -rw------- 1 root root 0 2007-03-31 12:49 .ICEauthority This causes subsequents calls to kde programs under gnome to fail to start: cer@nimrodel:~> Compilaciones/kde/kshowmail-3.1.0/kshowmail/kshowmail KShowmail running in normal mode kdeinit: Aborting. No write access to '/home/cer/.ICEauthority'. ERROR: KUniqueApplication: Can't setup DCOP communication. and some times causes already running kde apps to crash silently (opensuse-updater).
Looks like it belongs in KDE
