I upgraded to Alpha2plus and when I run Midnight Commander under root, it prints extra 'B' character at the end of the prompt (second line from the bottom). When I use my own PS1, this extra character disappears. I think it is caused by modification of bash.bashrc you made - see bug #144620 comment #25 for details:
