Description Casual J. Programmer 2007-05-07 06:56:57 UTC
After setting up an INTEL 945 GM graphics board according to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=271238, dual head is no longer accessible.

This concerns an FSC Amilo Si1520 running openSuSE 10.3 alpha3plus

sorry I don't have any clue what you are talking about. The reference
you set here points to a bug which mutates to a problem concerning
missing 3D. In order to be able to start at a common point which allows
me to know the systems status I asked to call the program in runlevel 3
and with option "-r" of course this is something a user should not need
to do but we are in a bug reproducing/tracking work flow so I have to
ask for that information... the result is 3D is available... and now
you are open up a bug that multi head is not available ??

Stefan don't you have a stable installation with intel onboard
and simply could start sax2 to see of there is anything missing ?
Did you change the CDB to some kind of uncommon entries like 3D entry
with driver=intel and 2D entry with driver=i810 ?

The code providing 3D and/or multihead hasn't changed in sax2

thanks

*hola* finally I'm able to reproduce the multi head issue. Will check
that
Comment 3 Marcus Schaefer 2007-05-07 12:34:16 UTC
ok, up to now this happens intentionally. With 10.3 the new intel driver
is used instead of the old i810 driver. The dual head configuration parameters
are completely different there and because of this some more work is needed.
What's needed is tracked down in bug: #270846
