Description Hubert Figuiere 2007-05-28 16:49:14 UTC
When I send mail to openoffice@lists.ximian.com, over SMTP, using Evolution, the Message-ID header gets discarded upon reentry in Novell.com.

It only happen if the mail originate from a novell.com address. It does not apply to messages that are sent from non Novell addresses, including from SuSE.cz...

Comment 2 Morris Blackham 2007-06-15 19:57:39 UTC
There is no X-mailer field in the headers above, who is actually creating the MIME file. GroupWise does not remove header fields on inbound messages.
Comment 3 Hubert Figuiere 2007-06-15 20:06:17 UTC
Evolution did it, over SMTP through imap.novell.com

Comment 4 Forgotten User eDPGYP6_cn 2007-07-31 05:32:24 UTC
What is the version of Evolution you are using ?
Comment 5 Hubert Figuiere 2007-07-31 11:35:59 UTC
2.8.3
Comment 6 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-01-31 08:17:02 UTC
Hubert, this is not for SLED. SLED has 2.6 only. I'm closing this. Please test and open against OpenSUSE 10.3/11.0. Thanks.
Comment 7 Hubert Figuiere 2008-01-31 13:14:24 UTC
happen with 10.3 as well
Comment 8 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-02-01 04:55:48 UTC
Hubert, It is not fixed. So should be possible with 11.0 also. So moved it to that product.

Can you see, if the outgoing mail has the 'Message-Id:

Can you see your Sent items or packet sniffing?

AFAIK, I haven't heard of any such issues before. I doubt some middle man.
Comment 9 Vance Baarda 2008-06-30 18:33:37 UTC
See comment 8.
Comment 10 Vance Baarda 2008-06-30 18:53:02 UTC
(In reply to comment #8 from Srinivasa Ragavan)
> AFAIK, I haven't heard of any such issues before. I doubt some middle man.

Please note:

From what I've observed, in Indian English, "doubt" means "to suspect or fear."

In American English, "doubt" means "to be undecided or skeptical about, or to disbelieve."

In other words, Indians and Americans mean opposite things when they say "doubt."

Not sure about England. :-)
Comment 12 Akhil Laddha 2009-08-06 06:00:01 UTC
@ Chen, will this bug be resolved with the recent changes in group wise message header threading ?
Comment 13 Stefan Behlert 2010-07-21 13:49:20 UTC
Ping
Comment 14 P Linnell 2010-11-27 21:53:16 UTC
I'll close this as NORESPONSE. If you can still reproduce it in 11.3 or
a milestone of 11.4, please reopen the bug and move it to the appropriate
product. Thanks!
