Bugzilla – Bug 302435
If repository is not available to install package, no error is returned
Last modified: 2007-08-29 11:18:02 UTC
If there are several repositories, and one, or more, of them aren't available during install of packages, those packages will be skipped without an error.
Does is also happen with zypper ? Please provide logs.
I had this issue earlier today while upgrading... Attaching logs from YaST as well as /var/log/zypper.log. I did it all via YaST. I will see if I can reproduce with zypper

Created attachment 159027 [details] YaST logs Sorry about the excess logs. Don't know which one you are after.. .:-/
So, does it also happen with zypper ?
Nope, does not happen with zypper. Attaching a zypper log showing that it's using the repositories that are available and disabling the ones that are not available.
Created attachment 159032 [details] When using zypper and it works
Ops! Disregard Comment#6 and Comment#7... They are for Bug#302432
Created attachment 159034 [details] zypper.log With zypper, I get the following; Downloading package kernel-default-2.6.22.3-4.i586, 20.0 M (62.1 M unpacked) Unexpected exception. Can't provide file ./suse/i586/kernel-default.rpm from repository full-i386_-_local Please file a bug report about this. See http://en.opensuse.org/Zypper#Troubleshooting for instructions. Attaching zypper.log
Huh, zypper should not ask for a bug report if a file is missing. Its a repository/network problem So if zypper reports the problem but YaST not, its probably in pkg-bindings. Jiri, please reassign appropriately
Could you please reproduce the problem and attach /var/log/YaST2/y2log file? The attached yast logs are huge and I cannot find which yast run failed.
Created attachment 159705 [details] y2log as requested Here's a new logfile. I searched for a package in YaST, ticked it, delete y2log, the clicked Accept in YaST. So should only contain the failure.
