Bugzilla – Bug 314286
Copy and Cut keyboard shortcuts not working
Last modified: 2007-09-15 21:23:51 UTC
---- Reported by kbowden@pacificspeed.com.au 2004-04-03 21:45:16 MST ---- Description of Problem: The Keyboard shortcut keys for Cut and Copy seem not to preform any action. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Hilight and area in an open source 2. Press CTRL-C or CTRL-X or SHIFT-DEL 3. Press CTRL-V or SHIFT-INS Actual Results: No text is placed into the clipboard buffer. When the cut action is used, the text is not removed from the document either. Expected Results: The selected text should be placed into the buffer. And in the case of Cut it should be removed from the document as well. How often does this happen? Every Time. Additional Information: Mono, monodoc, gtk#, md-0.2, etc, all compiled from source on Debian-Sarge ---- Additional Comments From tberman@gentoo.org 2004-04-06 02:45:05 MST ---- hmm, i cant seem to replicate the issue, what wm/de are you using? can anyone else replicate this? ---- Additional Comments From jluke@cfl.rr.com 2004-04-08 00:52:13 MST ---- One thing is I am not sending the text to the clipboard on shift + delete and shift + insert isn't set up at all. Ctl + x,c,v should all be working as expected though. ---- Additional Comments From mail@martin-probst.com 2004-04-08 12:28:34 MST ---- With me (r1401) Ctrl+[X,V,C] works allright, but I lately noticed that "Shift+Del" does not work as expected. If I select a line of text and press "Shift + Del" the line _below_ the highlighted line is removed but the selected line is copied into the clipboard. If I don't select a whole line but only some letters something I can't really figure out happens, including the whole line being deleted. I think this is related, so I didn't open a new bug. ---- Additional Comments From tberman@gentoo.org 2004-04-12 17:31:51 MST ---- shift+delete is actually 'delete whole line' and operates off the line your insert mark is on. the reason selecting a line and pressing shift + delete deletes the text line is the insert mark is actuallyon the following line.
