jiggly fonts in text editor while navigating and selecting text
Last modified: 2007-09-15 21:23:51 UTC
---- Reported by chayen@ccbcmd.edu 2004-05-10 23:33:05 MST ---- Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: lines of code jump up and down slightly while selecting text and navigating through code with the cursor. does not do this with the same font and size in gedit. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. write some code in monodoc. i was doing so in a c# console project in monospace 9. 2. select some text and move the cursor up and down while still selected. 3. seizure Actual Results: jiggly fonts! Expected Results: non-jiggly fonts! How often does this happen? everytime! Additional Information: none! ---- Additional Comments From tberman@gentoo.org 2004-05-10 23:58:29 MST ---- what version of gtksourceview. this doesnt occur with 1.0.0 ---- Additional Comments From chayen@ccbcmd.edu 2004-05-11 11:17:01 MST ---- i'm using version 1.0.1 of gtksourceview and version 0.2 of gtksourceview-sharp ---- Additional Comments From jluke@cfl.rr.com 2004-06-06 14:58:41 MST ---- In case it was still unconfirmed I get this as well, and gedit is not effected by this. It seems like it may be the bracket matching for some reason ---- Additional Comments From jba-mono@optusnet.com.au 2004-06-13 06:28:50 MST ---- I get this also. It seems to be only cause on block braces '{' and '}' and seems to be because when a brace is match the font is being changed from regular to bold. It seems that both { and } take up more verticle space when being bolded? ---- Additional Comments From tberman@off.net 2004-10-07 03:18:48 MST ---- I believe this has to do with the font size. if your font size is too small, (and since we use the default terminal font, which is smaller than the default font gedit uses) you get this. If someone can come up with another explanation (that would be fixable) please reopen.
