Description Justin Haygood 2007-09-22 13:53:03 UTC
"Details" button on openSUSE Updater (GNOME) points to "Software Management" module instead of the "Online Update" module, which logically makes more sense.
Comment 1 Stephan Binner 2007-09-22 15:00:35 UTC
Afaik the logic behind that shall be that it is this way because "Online Update module can only do patches".
Comment 2 Justin Haygood 2007-09-22 15:05:10 UTC
True, but Yast-GTK's Software Management product makes it insanely difficult to update packages, and I believe the most common usecase of the online update applet is to install patches.

Maybe it can be changed just to show a list of the patches/packages that it will be updating?
Comment 3 Joerg Kress 2007-09-24 07:45:42 UTC
This bug was already closed in bug #326244. You should have a new applet by now through online update which points to online_update.

This way you get at least the patches. There was no time for fixing the detailed view of the applet and unfortunately changing the Software Management modul in yast2 to just show updates is not trivial.

The detailed view will be better integrated in future versions.
