Bugzilla – Bug 327614
cannot access local media (cd/dvd/usb) after using freenx remotely
Last modified: 2023-12-25 11:12:58 UTC
when i boot up, i auto login to kde, then i go to work. from there i use freenx to connect to my box at home, well, when the bosses aren't looking. i work remotely for awhile... when i'm done, i tell it to terminate the connection. when i get home, i can't access any of my media, cd, dvd or usb. the only thing that seems to get me back to normal it is to reboot. is anyone else seeing this problem?
it seems to be a little better in 10.3 rc1, but i'm still testing. nobody else is jumping in here ;P~
Please attach your /var/log/nxserver.log and /var/log/messages .
Created attachment 175190 [details] messages the nxserver log exists (93 bytes), but it is a completely empty file, so i didn't attach it here. i also have problems where sometimes nx client disconnects after 20-30 seconds, repeatedly, until i finally reboot my suse box. i may have to open a new report for this problem.
This looks more like desktop session related problem (you terminate the NX client without terminating the session first?) to me. Which desktop do you use?
Any news on this one?
Not sure when we'll see a response here. Please reopen once you can provide the requested information.
i am not seeing this problem in 10.3 final, but i had to switch from freenx to no machine's nx client/server for other reasons.
FreeNX/NX server software on openSUSE 10.3 work for me, but neither knx (no longer developed since a long time) nor qtnx NX clients work for me, so I also switched to NoMachine's nx client.
