after i updated from java 1.6.0.u1 to 1.6.0.u3, all java-related symlinks in
  /etc/alternatives
  /usr/lib/jvm
  /usr/lib/jvm-exports
pointed to nowhere.

more precisely:
directories "*-1.6.0.u3" existed, but all the symlinks pointed to "*-1.6.0.u1"


after i manually changed all symlinks, java worked again.

the x86_64 version (on my other computer) is not affected.
