I always get the message:

Error org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.PermissionDeniedByPolicy.

Even if i found some howtos to setup the permissions i think this should work out of the box or should be easily configurable.

Just learned that all depend on race condition where dbus daemon does not start fast enough. Duplicate of bug 331002.
