Bugzilla – Bug 339914
flash-player package does not configure itself with nspluginwrapper
Last modified: 2008-01-08 16:01:07 UTC
installing the flash-player package doesn't give you flash until you configure the plugin wrapper manually. This should be done automatically in a post-install script or something.
Maybe a %triggerin or alike. Reassigning to tentative nspluginwrapper maintainer.
It's already implemented: %triggerin -- RealPlayer acroread acroread_ja flash-player mplayerplug-in %{_bindir}/%{name} -a -u || : But it may not work properly - most probably duplicate of bug 304963. Please see bug 304963 comment 22. Does it help for you?
Re bug 304963: I didn't see any error messages, it just didn't work. And I don't have dragonegg installed so I don't think this is a duplicate in that sense. As for comment 22, I don't need any help, I fixed it already. If it is implemented it appears to have not worked. Any other info needed?
Sorry, didn't know about this checkbox to remove the needinfo status.
What do you mean with "configure the plugin wrapper manually"? What will happen, if you run following command as root: /usr/bin/nspluginwrapper -a -i And yes, it does not work in some circumstances (e. g. presence of dragonegg), but it is a problem of glibc (bug 304963). Possible error message could appear in y2log (from time of installation). Could you provide it?
seeing this one in all new installs I have performed, reproducible all the time.
Could you please provide information from comment 5 to determine, whether this problem is a duplicate of bug 304963 or not?
Sorry, I went back to 32-bit out of frustration with another bug. Am not able to provide this info.
Most probably diplicate either of bug 350752 or bug 304963. Not having more information, guessing from the initial comment as bug 304963. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 304963 ***
