Description Steve Gunhouse 2007-11-16 20:41:59 UTC
Note - my email address has changed since I created this account, but I don't see a way to change the address on the account. My new email is svgunhouse@woh.rr.com

Today, update told me that it had an update to the updater itself, I told it to go ahead. Once it completed it told me there were 3 updates to my system, I told it to do those also. Now it says that it can't launch, and likewise the software portions of Yast2 will not launch, saying that libzypp.so.342 is not present.

When you guys have a fix, I can manually download and install it, but many of your users are going to be stuck. Force everyone to reinstall from the install disk? I'm sure that'll go over real well.

Copies of error messages:

OpenSUSE updater says:

"Can't launch zypp-checkpatches-wrapper helper program. Make sure zypper package is installed and working."

Yast2 Online Update says:

"Error loading language plugin /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2lang_perl.so: libzypp.so.324: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
No such client module online_update

Run 'yast2 -h' for help on usage"
