Description Detlef Grittner 2007-11-25 16:11:01 UTC
When using Xinerama I recently recognized that the Xconsole is visible on the second monitor during logon when using GNOME with gdm as Windowmanager.

Actually this should be switched of by the script /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup, but the path set by the variable gnome2root doesn't exist.
Either this should be corrected to:
gnome2root=/usr/sbin
or a link /opt/gnome/sbin must be set to /usr/sbin.

I have tried the first solution and now the Xconsole is no longer displayed during logon.

i can confirm this bug. it's happening to me after a fresh installation of opensuse 10.3. when booting up first xdm comes into play, then gdm with an annoying xconsole which is telling me whats happening inside of my laptop.
@ detlef: your workaround is very helpful, thanx.
