Description Tanja Roth 2007-12-11 15:45:33 UTC
According to a customer comment, krandrtray currently does not offer any screen rotation options (e.g. needed for TabletPC support) and in the krandrtray config dialog, you get the following message: Your X server is using the RandR extension at version 1.2 or greater which doesn't have any configuration yet.

Danny/KDE team members: Can you please look into this?

can this customer use the kde4 krandrtray? it has all those features already.

The question was based on a doc comment we got regarding the openSUSE 10.3 manuals - I guess KDE 4 krandtray was probably not an option at that time ;).

After talking to dkukawka, I filed this bugzilla entry as we could reproduce the issue with 10.3 (while it had worked fine with SLE SP1).

Good to hear it will probably work again with KDE 4 but what should we tell the 10.3 users then? To use KDE 4 krandtray instead if they want to use Tablet PCs?
Comment 3 Dirk Mueller 2008-03-17 16:12:07 UTC
well, preferably that, or I'd make it work for KDE3 again (I know that there is a patch that removes those options in our sources). I just want to know if there is customer demand to get it working specifically with KDE3 for whatever reason. if there is not, I would not like to invest time in it and just say "use KDE4".
