Bugzilla – Bug 349920
Recurring event does not recur like it's supposed to
Last modified: 2008-08-19 10:18:15 UTC
I have a personal calendar on my local disk and have one appointment that is set to recur Monday through Friday every week, with the alarm turned on. But it does not recur at all. On display, the appointment is shown only on the original date, and the alarm doesn't go off only on the original date. As it is now, I can't rely on the calendar functionality of Evolution to remind myself of important events. I originally stored my recurring events on my GroupWise calendar. It worked i.e. it displayed on all recurring dates & the alarm also worked. But as soon as I changed the data of that appointment and applied to all occurrences, it would crash Evolution.
Nevermind. The recurrence was set to 1 recurrence, which should be set to forever. But this is weird. Why does anyone want to set it to recur only once? The term 'recur' already implies that the event should happen more than one time. So, I think it's sensible to change the default to 'forever'.
>I think it's sensible to change the default to 'forever'. To clarify a bit more, the above sentence applies to the weekly recurrence, where you can specify the days of a week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun) on which to recur. For that type of recurring event, defaulting to 'forever' makes sense.
