Bugzilla – Bug 356862
1-click install keeps popping up when installing new software
Last modified: 2008-04-01 00:57:23 UTC
When installing a new software through 1-click install page, the installer keeps gaining the window focus, which is really annoying. For example, when I'm installing something, I usually minimize it and continue doing something else (surfing the web, for example), but sometimes when I hit the space bar, I accidentally abort the installation or some activity that the installer was doing, because it "stole" the focus of my current window. So, my suggestion is to integrate the 1-click install into the opensuse-updater-gnome-applet (not only for gnome, but also for kde). I imagine the following situation: When the *.ymp file is opened, the same window with the same options as how it is designed today would appear. But when the user reaches the step "Perform Installation", the openSUSE Updater applet would take the control from there and inform the user (in a bubble message or the like) that the installation is being performed in background. When the installation process is finished, another message is shown in the tray, where the user can click and see the results. That's it. :)
Update for this was recently shipped. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 331835 ***
