Description Sascha Wessels 2008-03-25 08:54:09 UTC
During initial installation of openSUSE 11 Alpha 3 I noticed that when I use standard password hashing using blowfish, YaST2 would like to truncate my password to 8 characters.

Authentication method chosen: /etc/passwd (default)
Password encryption method chosen: blowfish (default)

Using password "Th1sisatest" I get the following popup:

The password is too long for the current encyption method.
Truncate it to eight characters?

I noticed that, too. I think this is a bug. I'm sure I used much longer passwords with openSUSE 10.3 and blowfish.
