GNOME uses different resolution than X.Org is running at

Created attachment 205477 [details] Default autogenerated xorg.conf from 11.0 Alpha3 Booting 11.0 Alpha 3 gnome livecd on Dell Inspiron 700m (855GM) Upon arriving at the desktop X.Org appears to be running at the correct native panel resolution of 1280x800. However, GNOME is running as if the screen were 1024x768. Resizing back and forth with xrandr appears to have no effect. Please see attached xorg.conf, Xorg.0.log and a screenshot

I have this issue since 10.3 in Dell Vostro 1500.
Yes, on 10.3 I hit this issue as well and switched back to the i810 driver, at which point everything worked peachy. I'm guessing this has something to do with the new modesetting stuff in the intel driver
As a side note, KDE is not hitting this defect.
