Bugzilla – Bug 384253
YaST2 sw_single ignores my decision about version of package
Last modified: 2008-07-17 15:02:02 UTC
By mistake I updated kernel-default to version from standard repo. Now I want to change it's version back to the one from DVD. I open YaST2 sw_single, search for kernel-default, give it focus and switch to "Versions" tab (like on screen). There are two versions: from standard and from openSUSE-DVD 11.0. So I click on radio button next to "2.6.25-rc9.17-i586 from openSUSE-DVD 11.0" but YaST seems to ignore that. What I think so? 1) If I give focus to some other search result like "kernel-docs" and then back to "kernel-defaul" my choice is not remembered. Again, version from stardard is checked. 2) If I click "Apply" nothing installs

Qt UI or libzypp problem?
The UI sets the candidate. But I am unsure how much that is honored with all the new concepts in libzypp.
This bug is exacerbating the effects of bug #334810, but there is a workaround: use the repository manager to lower the priority of all repositories except the one you want the package from, or simply disable them temporarily.
Can't reproduce this with the latest libzypp-4.26.7-0.1. The selected version is remembered even if I switch the view or execute new searches. Selecting a version different to the installed one in the version tab, the status immediately changes to 'update'.
