Description Richard Swift 2008-06-02 13:19:04 UTC
I have had some issues with my "microsoft keyboard elite for bluetooth" and the current version of bluez. When binding the keyboard i am asked to enter a key, when i enter the key and click on the ok button, the window disappears after a couple of seconds and the keyboard isn't bound. if i type the key on the keyboard and press enter BEFORE the window disappears the keyboard is bound, but unusable (no keypress response).

Could a way of adding a keyboard without having to use a link key be added, as this was the way i got my keyboard to work previously with bluez and also with windows on the same machine without having to re-bind it (i dual boot, although i don't use windows much).

Thanks
Richard

Seife, I think this is fixed for 11.1 with the new bluez-gnome pairing, do you have a keyboard to test with?

Yes, tested with 2 different keyboards (one microsoft and one dell) and bluez-gnome 1.8

This also seems to be functioning correctly in SLED 11 Beta 4. I am able to successfully pair and use my Microsoft elite keyboard for bluetooth along with its mouse.

Ok, so we are good in 11.1 it appears, we can't backport bluez 4.x there though.

Seife, any other thoughts? I think we just have to close this as fixed for 11.1.
