Which debugpackage do i need to install to get a better backtrace - YaST does not show me a kontact debug package.
Comment 1 Will Stephenson 2008-06-10 12:36:31 UTC
No need, I can reproduce.
Comment 2 Will Stephenson 2008-06-10 16:20:14 UTC
Anja, I need to do an online update for this. Kontact's file that defines its plugins' type is missing on GMC and as a result no plugins are loaded-> undefined behaviour. For some reason (--force) I had an unpackaged instance of this file in on my test machine that masked the bug when testing last week. I have the fix ready.
Comment 4 Stephan Binner 2008-06-12 07:36:59 UTC
Is there any way or work-around to skip the introduction/make the modules load at all? If not I would say that this is rather a SHIP_STOPPER+.
Comment 5 Stephan Kulow 2008-06-12 07:50:56 UTC
because you need to do an online update before running kontact? hardly
Comment 6 Will Stephenson 2008-06-12 08:15:49 UTC
/usr/share/kde4/servicetypes/kontactplugin.desktop is the missing file.
Comment 7 Will Stephenson 2008-06-13 12:41:44 UTC
Submitted.
Comment 9 Stephan Binner 2008-06-19 14:36:46 UTC
*** Bug 401756 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 10 T. J. Brumfield 2008-06-19 22:20:51 UTC
In 4.0.82.13 the bug is still present.
Comment 11 Ariel Palmiste 2008-06-19 23:18:17 UTC
Same here, and it happened in fresh GM install.
Comment 12 Anja Stock 2008-06-20 14:34:31 UTC
released
Comment 13 Rainer Sabelka 2008-06-20 16:18:48 UTC
Seem to work now after online update.
Comment 14 Ariel Palmiste 2008-06-20 18:50:22 UTC
Yep, latest online update fixed that.
Comment 15 Stephan Binner 2008-06-21 16:34:39 UTC
As written this has been fixed for openSUSE 11.0 via online update. The fix has to be still merged into the 11.1 development packages though.
Comment 16 Stephan Binner 2008-06-23 13:34:33 UTC
Not that after 11.0 online update you move have to move the splitter from left window border to see the sidebar if you have started Kontact without online update before.
Comment 17 Bartosz Kiełczewski 2008-06-23 16:14:58 UTC
Still present in 4.0.82-12.4 from KDE4:Factory:Desktop repo.
Comment 18 Zeth Omaha 2008-06-24 17:44:19 UTC
OpenSuse 11 i586 KDE4-Kontact 4.0.83-15.1
Confirm that /usr/share/kde4/servicetypes/kontactplugin.desktop is missing and Kontact crashes when proceeding from "info window"
Comment 19 Zeth Omaha 2008-06-26 12:50:28 UTC
OpenSuse 11 i586 KDE4-Kontact 4.0.83-7.1

Problem solved thanks ;o)
Comment 20 Stephan Binner 2008-06-29 18:12:55 UTC
Closing.
