Bugzilla – Bug 404349
OpenSUSE 11.0 does not install or boot with two Nvidia and ATI video cards
Last modified: 2008-06-30 15:27:06 UTC
I tried to install openSUSE 11.0 with the KDE live CD and DVD and it froze on installation both times. I believe the issue is related to my video cards. I have an AGP NVidia Geforce MX 4000 and PCI ATI Radeon 7000. When I switched by bios to use the PCI card as the primary video card, it booted up, but the AGP card is unusable, though recognized. I tried switching it back to AGP after installation, and the boot freezes. I have not changed hardware since SuSE 10.1, and I have not had a problem on the other versions of Suse. Also, Sax dies at dies at /usr/share/sax/init.pl line 653. A related forum post is http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/387546-opensuse-11-nvidia-ati-video-card-same-system.html.
Either 'sax2 -c 0 -r' or 'sax2 -c 1 -r' should work for you. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 381644 ***
