Bugzilla – Bug 411061
Unable to update system
Last modified: 2008-10-07 21:08:23 UTC
When ever I try to update my system, I get the popup: "Failed to update system: Authorisation could not be obtained" (The spelling is correct) uname -a says: Linux Mongoose 2.6.25.5-1.1-default #1 SMP 2008-06-07 01:55:22 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
which tool are you using to update?
The auto-update tool that is standard with the OS. I start getting the messages right after the installation. Frank
The tool name is : PackageKit Update Applet 0.2.1
This bug was moved to "resolved" with no resolution. Reopened the bug. Frank
This error would indicate that PolicyKit is not available. Is the package PolicyKit-gnome installed? rpm -q PolicyKit-gnome
rpm -q PolicyKit-gnome gives PolicyKit-gnome-0.8-4.1
