Description Federico Mena Quintero 2008-10-08 22:27:56 UTC
My Thinkpad T41p has Fn-F5 to enable/disable Bluetooth (I think --- I'm not sure if it is "disable all radio foo"). However, pressing this key doesn't work to actually turn off the Bluetooth device.

See bug #422194 for the corresponding bug about doing this from the GUI.

Federico, is your system running with the latest Bios?

I'll try to reproduce if I can find a T41p in our office. Christian, do we have such a system?
Comment 2 Jörg Hermsdorf 2008-10-14 12:21:23 UTC
I can only confirm, that switching bluetooth on/off using Fn+F5 works on a ThinkPad T60p.

How can I know if it is the latest version? :)
Comment 5 Timo Hoenig 2008-10-15 19:41:21 UTC
Check your current bios version:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=YAST-3JWKJX

Compare to the latest bios version available:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?doctypeind=9&template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FdownloadsDriversLandingPage.vm

I'm sorry to let you go through this, but the severe bios changes done by IBM/Lenovo over the last year make this necessary.
Comment 6 Christian Zoz 2008-10-20 11:16:25 UTC
The only T41p we have is broken (lmuelle-damage).
We should have a T40p if that helps.
Comment 7 Timo Hoenig 2008-10-28 12:35:33 UTC
Federico, did you have a chance to test this with a new BIOS?
Comment 8 Holger Macht 2008-10-28 12:39:18 UTC
Federico, please run acpi_listen and press FN-F5. Any output?
Comment 9 Holger Macht 2008-11-30 14:41:22 UTC
