Description Edward Clay 2008-10-15 00:14:29 UTC
I performed a standard kde4 and gnome install on my Dell Latitude D830. When the install completed and the xwindows login screen appears I am not able to move the mouse or use the keyboard to navigate and or type in username and password. Alt + F1 will take you to a virtual terminal and the keyboard works. init 3 then init 5 doesn't seem to make a difference. I then tried a install not using images and at the end of the install it did not detect my video and display properly. I modified them to use lcd 1900x1200 but xwindows didn't start at the first boot. So I manually ran sax2 from the terminal prompt. Sax2 did detect the laptop display video card and resolution / color properly. Changing from init 3 then back to init 5 and xwindows worked fine.

My system has a GM965 intel video card and 15" lcd laptop screen.

Known issue. Missing input sections in xorg.conf.
