Description Blake Johnson 2008-11-05 00:19:47 UTC
I have a Bluetooth mouse paired with this machine right now, but the ability to browse OBEX devices seems to be broken.

"Error: Method "CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "sss" on interface "org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist

Please select another viewer and try again."

Trying to connect to my Motorola v9m. I tried removing the device, and repairing it, but that has not helped.

When I use the "Send files to device" option instead of the "Browse files on device" option, I get "Bluez DBus interface not available"
Comment 1 Blake Johnson 2008-11-11 00:50:53 UTC
As of factory (11/10/2008), I can now browse and see what is on my phone. However, I still can't send any files to it, via either drag and drop while browsing the contents, or the "Send files to device" option.

Send files to device: "Method "CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "ss" on interface "org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist"

Drag and drop: "Operation not supported by backend"

Do you have obex-data-server 0.4.1? This should solve that problem.
Comment 3 Blake Johnson 2008-11-11 12:12:24 UTC
I do. However, since I last upgraded all the packages a few days ago, an updated version of that appears to be out, so I'll check back after I update everything.
Comment 4 Blake Johnson 2008-11-12 12:03:32 UTC
After upgrading what appears to be labeled Beta 5, sending files is still broken with the same error message. I do, and I did have obex-data-server installed, latest version.
Comment 5 Michael Monreal 2008-11-16 12:23:10 UTC
11.1b5 here I get "Obex Push file transfer unsupported" when trying to send files. Pairing worked without a problem...
Comment 6 Blake Johnson 2008-11-17 14:25:49 UTC
As I discovered yesterday, I can browse my phone, but when I try to copy something from it, the connection between the two devices is lost, and then Nautilus just sits there like it's trying to copy, but unable to cancel. Killing nautilus fixes that issue, but that should not be needed.
Comment 7 Michael Monreal 2008-11-20 11:07:54 UTC
I just tested this again (on beta5) and now I get the same

Send files to device: "Method "CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "ss" on interface "org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist"

as mentioned before.
Comment 8 Bjørn Lie 2008-11-23 11:20:54 UTC
I have the same.
Comment 9 Blake Johnson 2008-11-23 13:24:29 UTC
Yeah, this still exists in the latest factory updates.
Comment 10 Blake Johnson 2008-11-29 04:24:38 UTC
With RC1 now (latest factory), I am able to browse my phone and copy files _from_ it. I still can not send files to it.
Comment 11 Vincent Untz 2008-12-01 01:54:42 UTC
I fixed this by patching bluez-gnome with a patch from upstream (found via fedora). This is submitted to oS:F: submission #4092.

The "can't write via nautilus" bug is known upstream and is not trivial to solve:

Is the fixed package still not built? It's not in factory at least

https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=bluez-gnome&project=openSUSE%3AFactory

It's there. So it's probably just not built yet.
