Bugzilla – Bug 441842
changing partitioning does not work properly
Last modified: 2008-11-05 16:56:44 UTC
During installation of openSUSE 11.1 Beta 4 I got from YaST a partition proposal that I need to change. The partition that YaST suggest to be used for /home should not be formatted but should be mounted as /suse110 . So I choose /dev/hda3 and I push the Change button. After that I get the screen in file yast2-000.png (which is in Dutch). So i choose not to format and I expect to be able to choose from the pull down menu below Bestandssysteem ID: . See yast2-001.png what I have there. When I choose something there the pull down menu below the Format partition changes, but not in the pull down where I make the choice. In the end I don't need to change something there so I leave it and go to the mount point entry. After a number of tries, I found out that I could click the mouse on it, press the Del and/or Backspace button to remove anything that might be there and type blind what I want there, which is "/suse110". Pressing Finish brings me back and I can check if it is what I want. To summarize: this screen is a mess.
Created attachment 250020 [details] yast2-000.png Screen to change the partition from being formatted to only being mounted on a non-standard mount point.
Created attachment 250021 [details] yast2-001.png Same screen as first one but now after having made some changes.
