When automatic update is enabled you can no longer start the Yast2 Software Manager without killing first the packagekitd process, disabled Automatic Update or killing the process resolves the issue. See also attached screenshot.

packagekitd should not hold zypp lock (i.e. keep zypp instance in memory) when using zypp backend, if possible

It holds it for 15 seconds, there is another bug about long term locking, which was a bug.

There is another bug about letting go of the zypp lock inside the 15 seconds if sent a signal.
