I just checked some of the source code in the Suse Linux factory package
kwatch-2.3.3-252.16 and I noticed the following

$ egrep "new|delete" ../BUILD/kwatch-2.3.3/kwatch/klogwidget.cpp | fgrep m_buf
    m_buf  = new char[m_cf.bufsize];
    delete m_buf;

Suggest replace

    delete m_buf;

with

    delete [] m_buf; m_buf = NULL;
