Bugzilla – Bug 444669
unable to log in as root
Last modified: 2008-11-18 13:32:19 UTC
After installing openSUSE 11.1 I can't log in as root. What is the meaning behind this? This happens when I try local and NIS as user authentication type. I attached y2 log. Do you need any additional logs?
Sorry, can't provide y2 log because I am unable to access /var/log/YaST2 :-(
Why are you reporting this for KDE when talking about y2logs? Can you login from text mode?
Same problem here. Used beta 5 32bit DVD after install tried to login as root and it said cannot login as root.
Created attachment 252517 [details] yast logs
Created attachment 252518 [details] kdm.log
(In reply to comment #2 from Lubos Lunak) > Why are you reporting this for KDE when talking about y2logs? Can you login > from text mode? > The same here. Yes, it's possible to login from text mode. But if i want to login from KDM, i obtain: Root logins are not allowed
