Bugzilla – Bug 445337
Pidgin fails with SSL (Groupwise or Gtalk)
Last modified: 2008-11-17 14:03:28 UTC
I just upgraded to 11.1 beta 5. Now Pidgin refused to connect to either GroupWise or GTalk. It give a "SSL Handshake failed" error in both cases. bug 441779 with Empathy has similar issues.
kopete work, but kopete use openSSL instead of GNU tls. That could be the reason. Empathy bug is actually bug 441799
Installing libgcrypt11 from openSUSE 11.0 makes this work again. Last change to this package by olh@suse.de mboman@mblxsrv01:/data/software/opensuse/repo/oss/suse/x86_64> rpm -q --changelog -p libgcrypt11-1.4.1-2.4.x86_64.rpm |head * Thu Oct 30 2008 olh@suse.de - obsolete old -XXbit packages (bnc#437293) * Mon Jun 30 2008 mkoenig@suse.de - update to version 1.4.1 * Fixed a bug which led to the comsumption of far too much entropy for the intial seeding * Improved AES performance for CFB and CBC modes
