My laptop is Dell D620. It happened on my openSUSE 11.0.
All compiz effects works if I do not connect to projector.

Steps to duplicate:
(1) Enable zoom in/out function on compiz
(2) Plug-in projector cable to VGA output
(3) Logout X11
(4) Login again
(5) Try your zoom in/out function, it not works!

I also attach the supportconfig on attachment, if needed.

I'm not sure. I have not yet play with openSUSE 11.1, but it still happen on my openSUSE 11.0.

openSUSE 11.1 has been released meanwhile. Please reopen if you can still
reproduce the issue with 11.1.

I tried 11.1 released version on few days ago, it still not works :-(

Compiz was updated quite few times in last 10 years. Lets close this as upstream and open a new bug if you still observe the issue.
