Description Aaron Digulla 2008-12-20 18:12:55 UTC
After half an hour searching, I've failed to find a way to more the miniprograms in the "Kontrollleiste" (KDE3: kicker). Left clicking activates them, middle clicking doesn't do anything, right clicking opens a menu but there is no item "move" ("Verschieben") as promised by the docs.
Comment 1 Aaron Digulla 2008-12-20 18:25:47 UTC
Removed wrong dependencies
Comment 2 Aaron Digulla 2008-12-20 18:33:30 UTC
In the online docs ("Eine Einführung zu KDE"), chapter 3. "Kapitel 3. Anwendungen starten", it says that there should be a move item in the context menu.

The "KDE-Benutzerhandbuch" says nothing about moving the mini programs in part II, chapter 3.

I think that at least the German the documentation is not up to date with the system. I tried to find the English version but couldn't find it. I couldn't even find the name of the RPM package in Yast. There is a kde4-i18n-de but no kde4*en, no kde*doc, no kde*manual.
Comment 3 Stephan Binner 2008-12-28 15:34:58 UTC
Dunno what documentation you're reading. In KDE4 you move panel items by entering the panel settings mode (see http://help.opensuse.org/kde4/ third paragraph), hovering the applet you want to move and left-click.
Comment 4 Aaron Digulla 2008-12-29 21:16:21 UTC
It's called "KDE-Hilfezentrum" (maybe KDE Help center?). Just open any KDE4 app and go to the "Help" menu and open the manual.

My guess is that the online docs are still for KDE3.

What's the name for the KDE4 manual/docs rpm?
Comment 5 Karl Eichwalder 2009-01-02 09:50:44 UTC
Is this report about KDE upstream documentation or the opensuse-manual_en resp. opensuse-manual_de package?
Comment 6 Aaron Digulla 2009-01-02 12:30:25 UTC
How can I tell? The KDE help center doesn't display any URLs or filenames.
Comment 7 Karl Eichwalder 2009-01-02 12:53:13 UTC
Can you take a screen shot, please, and attach it here?

Comment 10 Karl Eichwalder 2009-01-07 13:12:44 UTC
As Aaron assumed in comment 4, the bug is about docs coming with KDE3. Stephan, can you please check it again?

openSUSE is now only working on P1/P2 KDE3 bugs to better concentrate on the default KDE4. Closing bug but you could report at bugs.kde.org

Cheers
