Description V R 2009-04-23 02:06:13 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032600 SUSE/3.0.8-1.1.1 Firefox/3.0.8 GTB5

I have an HP dv4t laptop which has some touch sensitive controls media controls one of which is for volume control.

When using a GNOME desktop, whenever I use the volume control, I get a pop-up which provides visual feedback for the volume increasing/decreasing, which is somewhat what similar in appearance to a progress bar.

However, when I am using either the KDE3 or the KDE4 desktops, I get no such visual feedback popup. I haven't tried the other options available

However, it is to be noted that the controller is indeed working as I can hear the volume level change. It is just that the visual feedback popup is absent.

Also, please let me know if I need to open another bug report for the KDE4 desktop as I had chosen only KDE3 in the above selector box as multiple select option is not available.

I'm running openSUSE 11.1 64-bit edition. I chose to install both GNOME and KDE during the OS installation.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Choose either KDE3 or KDE4 desktop at the login screen.
2.After login, try to use the volume touch sensitive volume control above the keyboard on the HP dv4t laptop.
3.You will notice that even thought the volume decreases or increases as intended, there is no visual feedback.
Actual Results:
No visual feedback or progress bar like pop-up.

Expected Results:
I should see a progress bar like pop-up visual feedback.

Dupe of #450328, not #495064.
