It appears that the touchpad mouse for the HP NX6310 laptop is not detected during the installer. I got to the first page entitled "Welcome" where I can choose the language and the keyboard layout but am unable to move the mouse. I will have to put in a USB mouse in order to progress.

The NX6310 uses a Synaptics touchpad. So this is almost definitely a duplicate of bug 498334.
