Bugzilla – Bug 504114
Conflict in Configure Desktop>Network Settings>Proxy AND Yast>Network Services>Proxy
Last modified: 2009-06-12 13:29:01 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042700 SUSE/3.0.10-1.1.1 Firefox/3.0.10 The Configure Desktop Settings>Network in KDE 4.1 are in conflict with Yast>Network Services>Proxy I do not feel that any Proxy services are valid in the Configure Desktop area. These should be confined to Yast as they have always been. I can see no logic nor benefit in being able to configure a proxy server in KDE Configure Desktop>Network as well as in Yast>Network Services>Proxy One has to go as configuring both of them would lead to huge conflicts and a totally shaky environment. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Yast>Network Services>Proxy AND 2. KDE Configure Desktop>Network>Proxy Settings Actual Results: I am to afraid to configure both as the logic for maintaining both places to config a proxy server is flawed and if configured I do not know who would override who. Expected Results: 1 Place to configure any Proxy, that being Yast.
YaST does system-wide settings, KDE does user settings.
Fixed to make KDE use Yast settings, unless overriden. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 334811 ***
