Created attachment 300726 [details] screenshot User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; sk; rv:1.9.1.0) Gecko/20090617 SUSE/3.5.0-2.2 Firefox/3.5 Note: This bug is related for Milestone3, but it wasn't available as a Product version, so i chose Mileston2. I occurred error while installation Grub during perform installation. I wasn't sure whether this would be a duplicate of the Bug 515529 - GRUB -> segmentation fault Stephan Kulow wrote in "status coolo" - http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2009-06/msg00328.html that the live cds worked and the DVD install had only a minor flaw (the bootloader config claims it failed but then it booted fine). But this happens to me from LiveCD Gnome. Attached screenshot and yast logs. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

This issue occurred also from LiveCD KDE.
Seems like no matter what it wants to install an mbr to a floppy disk, and when you tell it no, it then claims it failed. I got the segfault on milestone 2, but not on 3. My 2 cents.
Joseph, please create separate bugreport and assign it to me. Please don't forget to attach yast logs.
Next during installation from live CD are installed packages from repo OSS and there is newer version of GRUB package than on Live CD. The result is installed broken GRUB package. It is duplicate of bug#515529. Maybe I am wrong please verify if your installed version of GRUB package is 0.94-157 or broken version 0.94-159 (it is broken package) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 515529 ***

Maybe I am wrong please > verify if your installed version of GRUB package is 0.94-157 or broken version > 0.94-159 (it is broken package) You probably mean 0.97-159.4(no 0.94-159). This version is installed.
I am sorry you are right. (comment#6)
