On the attached screenshot you can see that no titlebar is available when are Compiz desktop effects used.
I can't confirm whether this issue exists also without Compiz desktop effects, because i'm not able to disable Compiz(but it's another bug - Bug 525691)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

2.
3.

It don't happens if you disable compiz, I ran this command on my terminal:

  metacity --replace

And borders back to work in metacity, when I back to compiz, still without borders.

Since we have another bug #525691 then is not possible to switch from/to compiz, the only way to reproduce this bug is installing from Live-Gnome that make desktop default as compiz enabled.

I hope we get compiz working out of the box for this release of openSUSE because compiz in 11.1 still failing :(

Also, I have changed priority to P2 and Major because is practically impossible to use a system without "maximize", "minimize" and "close".

Hey, I just figure that if you disable the use of metacity theme in compiz it works.

Got to /apps/gwd/use_metacity_theme in gconf-editor and disable it.

Probably our problem is that Compiz can't render metacity themes.

Hm strange, because i'm running on 11.1 (exactly openSUSE-11.1-GNOME-Reloaded-LiveCD, from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/Medias/images/iso/)
and it seems to be working without faults, so far ;-).
Gnome 2.26.3 and compiz-0.8.2-79.5

Oh? GNOME Reloaded ? What is this?
Is it official?

I know how to fix compiz problem adding a repo, but it must works out of the box or at least after make all updates withou any "repo add".

No, it isn´t official :-)
It is something like KDE4 reloaded - http://news.opensuse.org/2009/05/01/opensuse-111-kde4-reloaded-includes-kde-422-and-111-updates/, but provided by Gnome openSUSE community.

Bug 481519 comment 5 also says that it works with compiz 0.8.2 but Factory has only version 0.7.8.
