Bugzilla – Bug 535020
Keyboard Layout from installation does not survive into running system
Last modified: 2009-09-03 08:59:31 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090730 SUSE/3.5.2-2.4 Firefox/3.5.2 In my case, I selected the Spanish Layout during install, but after the first system reboot I get the USA Layout set. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install openSUSE 11.2 M6 and choose the Spanish Keyboard Layout. 2.Reboot the system once installation is over. 3.Check Kayboard Layout. Actual Results: Different Keyboard Layout from chosen at install time. Expected Results: Keyboard Layout after first reboot (always actually) and chosen during install are the same.
Could you please attach y2logs according to http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST. Thanks!
I experienced this also after installing from M6 KDE live (build249) Attaching y2logs...
Created attachment 316191 [details] y2logs after first install
Hm, the log files are from live installation and do not indicate any change to spanish layout...
But I reproduced it. The keyboard layout was set during install (with xkbmap call), was not available in the desktop.
