+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #539543 +++

boost-license needs to be obsoleted/provides by the boost-license1_39_0 package
Comment 1 Philipp Thomas 2009-10-19 13:24:24 UTC
Fixed in devel project and SR submitted for Factory.
Comment 2 Michael Schröder 2010-04-28 13:27:49 UTC
Nope. boost-license still doesn't contain the obsoletes. Please add it for the right subpackage.
Comment 3 Philipp Thomas 2010-04-29 15:57:10 UTC
Fixed for real. SRs submitted for 11.2 and factory.

Comment 10 Jim Henderson 2010-11-14 21:01:51 UTC
I'm apparently seeing this on 11.2 x86_64 that is otherwise fully patched as of today. When I go to update, I get the following error message:

libboost_date_time1_36_0-1.36.0-9.5.x86_64 requires boost-license = 1.36.0, but this requirement cannot be provided

I then am given the option to use YaST to do the updates manually, and if I do that, then it seems to want to remove most of the boost libraries, lyx, and a few other things.

Are the 1.3.6 packages packages that have been left behind? They show as system packages not installed from a repo, and this system was updated using zypper dup.
Comment 11 Christian Dengler 2010-11-15 14:24:19 UTC
Philipp,
be so kind and a look on this broken update.

I provide you a new SwampID.

Comment 13 Stephan Kulow 2010-11-16 10:22:01 UTC
this is a bug in the 11.1 boost packages (bnc#477603) and can only be "fixed" by the user in actually deinstalling 1.36 and update dependent packages. No update possible - outside crude hacks that I don't consider worth it.
