Bugzilla – Bug 544958
zypper dup leaves old packages around
Last modified: 2021-04-28 22:16:58 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #539543 +++ boost-license needs to be obsoleted/provides by the boost-license1_39_0 package
Fixed in devel project and SR submitted for Factory.
Nope. boost-license still doesn't contain the obsoletes. Please add it for the right subpackage.
Fixed for real. SRs submitted for 11.2 and factory.
reopen for maintenance...
please accept sr#39077
hmm. this is minor , but we could just do it. perhaps roll with the other boost updates +1

update started.
Update released for: boost, boost-devel, boost-doc, boost-license1_39_0, libboost_date_time1_39_0, libboost_filesystem1_39_0, libboost_graph1_39_0, libboost_iostreams1_39_0, libboost_math1_39_0, libboost_mpi1_39_0, libboost_program_options1_39_0, libboost_python1_39_0, libboost_regex1_39_0, libboost_serialization1_39_0, libboost_signals1_39_0, libboost_system1_39_0, libboost_test1_39_0, libboost_thread1_39_0, libboost_wave1_39_0 Products: openSUSE 11.2 (i586, x86_64)
I'm apparently seeing this on 11.2 x86_64 that is otherwise fully patched as of today. When I go to update, I get the following error message: libboost_date_time1_36_0-1.36.0-9.5.x86_64 requires boost-license = 1.36.0, but this requirement cannot be provided I then am given the option to use YaST to do the updates manually, and if I do that, then it seems to want to remove most of the boost libraries, lyx, and a few other things. Are the 1.3.6 packages packages that have been left behind? They show as system packages not installed from a repo, and this system was updated using zypper dup.
Philipp, be so kind and a look on this broken update. I provide you a new SwampID.

this is a bug in the 11.1 boost packages (bnc#477603) and can only be "fixed" by the user in actually deinstalling 1.36 and update dependent packages. No update possible - outside crude hacks that I don't consider worth it.
This is an autogenerated message for OBS integration: This bug (544958) was mentioned in https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/39078 Factory / boost
