Bugzilla – Bug 547760
Networkmanager is unable to do a umts connection
Last modified: 2009-10-19 22:28:27 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-3.2 Firefox/3.5.3 The Networkmanager on 11.2 detects my umts modem but is unable to connect. When i start the connection with KNetworkmanager it hangs forever. Networkmanager prints the following to stdout when it wants to dial: ---cut--- NetworkManager: <info> Activation (usb0) starting connection 'A1.net' NetworkManager: <info> (usb0): device state change: 3 -> 4 (reason 0) NetworkManager: <info> Activation (usb0) Stage 1 of 5 (Device Prepare) scheduled... NetworkManager: <info> Activation (usb0) Stage 1 of 5 (Device Prepare) started... NetworkManager: <info> (usb0): device state change: 4 -> 6 (reason 0) NetworkManager: <info> Activation (usb0) Stage 1 of 5 (Device Prepare) complete. NetworkManager: <WARN> update_one_setting(): Failed to update connection secrets: 1 ipv4 NetworkManager: real_connection_secrets_updated: assertion `caller == SECRETS_CALLER_GSM' failed ---cut--- Using wvdial the connection works fine as on 11.1. The umts usb modem identifies itself as "Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0bdb:1900 Ericsson Business Mobile Networks BV". It is assembled into my Lenovo IdeaPad S10. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup a new umts connection with knetworkmanager 2. trigger a dialup Actual Results: Setting up the modem or something like that hangs forever.
